On the auspicious day of Laba Festival, our company came together to celebrate this traditional Chinese holiday with warmth, creativity, and a shared sense of gratitude. The theme of this year's event was “Porridge Brings Blessings, Garlic Fills the Home”, a joyful nod to the cherished customs of the season.

🥣 The Heart of the Celebration: DIY Laba Porridge

At the center of our celebration was the hands-on activity of making Laba Porridge, a symbolic and nourishing dish believed to bring good luck and wellness. We prepared over a dozen wholesome ingredients, including:

Red beans

Barley

Lotus seeds

Lily bulbs

Peanuts

Jujubes (red dates)

Glutinous rice, black rice, and more!

Each participant got to mix and match their favorite grains and dried fruits, crafting a personalized bowl of eight-treasure porridge, rich in both flavor and meaning.

🧄 Laba Garlic: Pickled with Love and Luck

No Laba Festival is complete without the traditional pickling of Laba garlic. Everyone rolled up their sleeves and filled jars with peeled garlic cloves, adding vinegar and a touch of care. What made it special?

Each jar was sealed with a custom “Fu” blessing label — designed and printed in-house — turning a simple jar of garlic into a jar of fortune and festivity.

🎁 Handmade With Heart: Packing and Sharing

We didn't stop there — we wrapped our creations in festive red paper printed with lucky characters and New Year motifs. These thoughtfully prepared packages of porridge kits and pickled garlic became symbols of warmth, ready to be shared with loved ones or enjoyed at home.

Following the event, employees proudly shared their homemade versions of Laba porridge and Laba garlic, filling our group chats and hearts with joy. From rich, hearty bowls of porridge to vibrant jars of green-tinted garlic, every creation reflected the spirit of connection, culture, and care.
